Teen charged in connection with break-in and robbery at fraud suspect's home 6/7/2009 9:10:46 AM
A teenager is charged in connection with the break-in to fraud suspect J.V. Huffman Jr.'s home. Huffman is accused of scamming friends, family, and business associates out of millions of dollars. His residence on Wishing Well lane was robbed Thursday night. Huffman, who is 45 years old, is charged with four counts of securities fraud in connection with allegations that he lied to family and friends for 17 years by telling them he bought and sold securities while he was taking millions of dollars from them. 17 year old Christian Eugene Goss of Catawba was arrested Friday and charged with single counts of larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and or entering, and larceny after breaking and entering. Among the items taken were a Mercedes Benz valued at 187,000 dollars, ten flat screen TVs, and approximately a half-million dollars in theater equipment for a home theater system. The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office says every room in the home along with the garage were ransacked. Goss (pictured) was placed in the Catawba County Jail under 75,000 dollars bond, he's scheduled to appear in court Monday. Huffman remains in the Catawba County Jail under one-million dollars bond, his next court appearance is scheduled for August 24th.
