Caldwell County Emergency Services has new notification system called CodeRED 10/18/2013 6:12:40 PM
Caldwell County Emergency Services has put into place a mass notification system called CodeRED for the public to receive high speed notifications of emergencies across the county.
Similar to a reverse 911 system, CodeRED provides county officials the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire county as needed. Emergency situations would include severe weather warnings, mass evacuations or any other type of emergency situation where information needs to be provided to the public in a quick manner.
There is no cost to citizens to sign up for the system.
Citizens and businesses are urged to log onto the Caldwell County government website at www.caldwellcountync.org and click on the CodeRED icon on the home page.
This link will take them to the "CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment" page.
Anyone that does not have Internet access may call (828) 757-1419 to supply their information over the phone and be set up in the system.
There is a voice mail attached to this phone number and citizens can leave a message for a call back if the representative is away from their desk.
