Madison Bumgarner Named NCHSAA 100 To Remember Male Athletes 9/18/2013 4:21:18 PM
As part of the celebration of the centennial of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, the NCHSAA has released the fourth and final list of its “100 To Remember” series.
The list of “100 To Remember: Male Athletes” highlights one hundred of the top male athletes in NCHSAA history. A special committee, including school administrators and coaches from across the state as well as sports media, put together the list in a series of meetings.
One former player made the list:
Madison Bumgarner South Caldwell Was Most Valuable Player in 2007 NCHSAA state 4-A baseball championship series as South Caldwell won title…was Gatorade’s North Carolina Player of Year as prep senior with .424 average, 11-2 pitching mark and 1.05 ERA…after great high school career has gone on great career in professional baseball, including MLB debut in 2009 and excellent years with San Francisco Giants…was 16-11 with 3.37 ERA during 2012 season, which ended with Giants winning World Series...selected to All-Star Game in 2013.
