Three Arrested in Connection to Burke County Break-Ins 4/2/2013 3:56:35 PM
20-year-old Donald Ray Campbell of Crystal Creek Road in Morganton, 29-year-old James Michael Cape of Lincoln Lane in Lenoir and 23-year-old Rocky Lee Dale of 2800 Devinney Avenue in Morganton have all been arrested in connection to a series of residential break-ins that occurred during the months of December 2012 and January 2013.
Following a lengthy investigation conducted by the Morganton Dept. of Public Safety, Campbell was arrested on March 12, Cape on March 21 and Dale on March 13. All three are charged with second-degree burglary. Campbell and Cape are also charged with larceny of a firearm and Campbell faces an additional charge for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
All three were placed in the Burke-Catawba Detention Facility. Bond for Campbell was set at $60,000, secured. Cape was given a $30,000 secured bond and Dale’s bond was set at $10,000, secured. Campbell and Dale both have District Court coming up tomorrow (April 3), while Cape’s next court date is scheduled for April 15, all in Morganton.
