Conover Man Busted for Crack Cocaine 3/19/2013 3:23:17 PM
40-year-old Lewis James Young of Noah Path in Conover was arrested early this morning (March 19) on one felony count for possession of cocaine.
He was arrested when a Hickory Police Officer saw Young walking southbound on the 800 block of South Center Street. Young appeared to be lost. When the Officer stopped to inquire, Young began to walk away. He said a cab had dropped him off and that he was waiting for another cab to take him home.
Young gave consent to search, leading to the discovery of four rocks of crack cocaine, wrapped in the cellophane from a pack of cigarettes. The crack weighed two-tenths of a gram.
He was processed at H.P.D. and then taken to the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $5,000 secured bond. An appearance in District Court was set for tomorrow in Newton.
