Visiting Artist to Present Master Acting Class at H.C.T.2/4/2013 3:26:33 PM
Registration is now open for a special Master Class in Acting presented by the Hickory Community Theatre, with their visiting artist, professional actress Vanessa Adams-Harris from the North Carolina Black Repertory Company. The class will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the theater.
This master class is part of the theater’s 2013 Bridgeview Festival, which includes a performance by Ms. Adams-Harris in the one-woman show, “Big Mama Speaks” on Monday, February 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Adams-Harris has over 20 years of theatre experience. She is a Muscogee Creek Native-American & African-American artist, actor, director, workshop facilitator and playwright. She is the creator of Theatre By Me I & II, a theatre study for African-American and Native American children. She also created & directed “Resonating Voices” for the Resonance Center for Women, Inc. in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Ms. Adams-Harris is a native of Oklahoma, where she is part of “Celebrate Oklahoma Voices”, a digital storytelling network that archives local oral history on the internet.
