Tornado Watch in Effect Until 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch in effect until eight o’clock this evening (January 30) for the following counties in western North Carolina:

Catawba, Burke, Caldwell, Alexander, Avery, Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, McDowell, Mitchell, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania and Yancey.

In the Piedmont:

Cabarrus, Cleveland, Davie, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan and Union.
