Hickory Public Schools Board of Education to Meet Tonight 1/28/2013 2:57:42 PM
The Hickory Public Schools Board of Education will meet at seven o’clock tonight (January 28) in the Council Chambers at Hickory City Hall.
A special program will be presented by Oakwood Elementary School’s Science Olympiad Team. Hickory Mayor Rudy Wright will make a proclamation recognizing School Board Appreciation Month, and Hickory High Spanish teacher Sarah E. White will be recognized for earning her National Board Certification.
Items on the consent agenda include donations, field trips and fundraiser requests, as well as budget amendments and capital outlay & expense requests.
The Board will also hear a first reading of the Board’s new policy regarding education for pregnant and parenting students.
A closed session is planned to consider personnel items and other advice from the H.P.S. attorney.
