Over $65,000 Seized by Authorities in Boone 12/13/2012 2:52:30 PM
Yesterday (December 12), narcotics Detectives with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office, the Boone Police Department and the N.C. Department of Revenue seized a large amount of cash after returning to a residence on Howard’s Creek Road in Boone in connection to an on-going investigation.
The residence was the home of Louis Enrique Garcia and Javier Sanchez Chavez, who were arrested by Detectives with Homeland Security and Immigration Customs Enforcement on December 7. They were taken into custody when a narcotics search warrant was executed at the residence, resulting in the seizure of over a pound of crystal methamphetamine.
Narcotics Detectives yesterday located and seized additional U.S. currency totaling over $68,000. The money was the direct result of the sale and distribution of methamphetamine.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests are expected.
