Dental X-Ray Bus in Hickory Tomorrow 5/5/2010 9:55:53 AM
A state-of-the-art dental X-ray bus is scheduled to make a stop in Hickory tomorrow (Thursday, May 6). The event is made possible by a Blue Cross & Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation grant to help people who need dental care but can’t afford it.
The bus will be at the Greater Hickory Cooperative Christian Ministry, 31 1st Avenue S.E., starting at 11 a.m. tomorrow. At that time, the Blue Cross & Blue Shield Foundation will officially announce its grant, and tours of the bus will be available. X-rays will begin at noon and will continue through 2 p.m.
The bus supports portable Missions of Mercy mass dental clinics throughout the state, providing X-rays for more than 6,000 N.C. residents each year. Three Missions of Mercy clinics are planned for western North Carolina this summer.
