Paws to Read Program Continues at Hickory Libraries 3/9/2010 1:20:46 PM
The Hickory Public Library is continuing its “Paws to Read” program for young readers. “Paws to Read” offers beginning and reluctant readers an opportunity to hone their skills while reading to a certified therapy dog. There are a variety of therapy dogs participating in the program, experienced in interacting with children.
The program is available at the Patrick Beaver Memorial Library on Wednesday afternoons at 4 and 4:30 p.m., or on Thursday evenings at 6:15 and 7 p.m. Dogs are available at the Ridgeview Branch Library Mondays and Tuesdays at 4 and 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 6:15 and 7 p.m. Appointments are available on a first come, first served basis. The Patrick Beaver Memorial Library is located at 375 3rd Street NE on the SALT Block. The Ridgeview Branch Library is at 706 1st Street SW.
