22-year-old Shannon Michelle Cook of 4156 River Road, Hickory, was arrested early this morning by Hickory Police on one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon.

Police responded to a call and met the apparent victim of an assault on the 300 block of 18th Street SW.  The victim stated that she had been at a private residence on 17th Street Place SW where crack cocaine was being used.  The victim got into an argument with Cook, who allegedly hit the victim with what was described as a big liquor bottle and then cut and stabbed the victim on the hand with a knife.  The victim was treated by EMS personnel on the scene and then released.

Cook was processed at the Hickory Police Department where bond was set at $6,000, secured.  She was then taken to the Catawba Co. Detention Center where she is scheduled to appear in District Court in Newton today.
