Gabriel Wins Newton's Unity Day Award 2/8/2010 7:57:53 AM
Stanford Gabriel was the recipient of Newton's Unity Day Award on Sunday. Gabriel serves on the City's Human Relations Council. He is also on the Newton Planning Commission, the East Newton Neighborhood Task Force and is the political action chairman for the Catawba County branch of the NAACP. He is a democratic judge for the Board of Elections and a former member of the Newton Board of Adjustment.
Newton's Unity Day celebrates diversity with art, dance, music and food. The Unity Day Award is bestowed upon the person, business or industry that best demonstrates outstanding service to the Newton community and has worked to improve relations among cultures and races in the City.
