Dudley Shoals Elementary School will present a musical performance of “School House Rock, Live!”  Two performances are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, February 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. at the Hibriten High School’s Theater, 1350 Panther Trail, Lenoir. 

“School House Rock, Live!” is based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970’s educational cartoon series that utilized creative songs and melodies to teach academic lessons in grammar, math, science, history, social studies and political science.  Glenda Johnson directs the production, with Shelia Klutz serving as music director.  Both are on the staff at Dudley Shoals Elementary.

“Schoolhouse Rock, Live!” was previously produced at Dudley Shoals in 2007 with the help of a $1,000 Bright Ideas Grant.  Donations received at those performances have made this year’s production possible.

Doors open at 6:30 pm.  This performance is free and open to the public; however, donations will again be accepted at the door to support other art, music and theatrical programs.
