Cosmos, a men’s clothing store in Hickory’s Valley Hills Mall, was the victim of embezzlement, according to a report filed with Hickory Police yesterday.

Management at Cosmos alleges that an employee allowed friends and family members to select clothing and merchandise and then rang up the items at a lower price.  Total property loss is estimated at $5,421.  The suspect is no longer employed by Cosmos.

Charges are pending as the Hickory Police continue to investigate.
