36-year-old Tommy Doyle Callahan of County Home Road, Taylorsville, was arrested by Alexander Co. Sheriff’s Officers and charged with one count of possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and two counts of resisting, obstructing and delaying a law enforcement officer.

The charges are the result of a vehicle stop on January 27.  Officers stopped Callahan on County Home Road and found a quantity of pills in the car he was driving.  Upon arresting Callahan, a short struggle with the Officers ensued.

Schedule IV controlled substances include Xanax, Valium and other pills.

Callahan is currently held under $4,000 secured bond with a first court appearance set for March 29.
