Car Stolen Near LRU Campus

A 62-year-old Hickory man was the victim of motor vehicle theft sometime between 10 p.m. last Saturday and 3 p.m. yesterday. The man left his 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the 700 block of 8th Avenue NE, near Fritz Hall on the campus of Lenoir Rhyne University.

He left the car parked as the result of last weekend’s snowstorm. When he returned yesterday to move the vehicle, it was no longer there. Estimated value of the vehicle is $4,000. Hickory Police are investigating.
