32-year-old Aaron Bernard Faulkner of Sharpe Street in Mooresville was arrested Saturday (March 9) by Iredell County Sheriff's Officers. He's charged with felony counts of possession of cocaine and possession of schedule I controlled substance, with that substance being ecstasy. Faulkner is also charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Saturday (March 9) deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office were following up a lead stemming from a break-in to a business in Mooresville. The deputies found the suspect truck which was involved in the crime. They spoke with the occupants of the truck and after gaining further information searched the suspect vehicle.

The search of the truck resulted in the discovery of cocaine, ecstasy, and marijuana. The drugs were reportedly in the possession of the driver of the truck, Aaron Faulkner.

Faulkner was arrested on scene and taken to the Iredell County Detention Center where he received a $5,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for April 1.

28-year-old Michael Paul Brandenburg of Indianapolis, Indiana was arrested by Lenoir Police yesterday (March 10) for felony larceny of greater than $1,000 and felony possession of stolen goods or property.

Following his arrest, Brandenburg was taken to the Caldwell Co. Detention Facility under a $5,000 secured bond. He was released after posting bond. Brandenburg was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today (March 11) in Lenoir.

48-year-old Charles Lynn Bentley of Sigmon Drive in Granite Falls was arrested by Lenoir Police Saturday (March 9) on a felony probation violation and a felony out-of-county probation violation. Bentley is on probation as he serves a 36-month-suspended sentence following a December 2018 conviction in Caldwell County for felony breaking & entering and a January 2019 conviction in Catawba County for felony possession of a controlled substance on prison or jail premises.

Following his arrest, Bentley was placed in the Caldwell Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $100,000, secured. He'll appear in Superior Court on April 1 in Lenoir.

25-year-old Dustin Ray Ingle, who is listed as a homeless person from Lincolnton, was arrested by Maiden Police Officers. He's charged on a bill of indictment with second degree arson. Ingle was placed in the Catawba County Detention Facility this morning (March 11) under $2,500 bond. A Superior Court date was scheduled today.

40-year-old Lisa Marie Williams was arrested Friday (March 8) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She's charged with felony counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance, and maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place to keep controlled substance, along with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams was arrested shortly after 4 p.m. Friday at an address on Edgewood Avenue in Morganton. She was placed in jail in Morganton under $15,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance was scheduled today (March 11).

27-year-old Christy Dawn Mcgalliard was arrested Sunday (March 10) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. She's charged with felony larceny of a motor vehicle. Mcgalliard was arrested shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday at an address on Sunnyside Drive in Morganton. She was not listed as an inmate in Burke County, no upcoming court dates were listed.

Maiden Man Arrested On Drug Charges

39-year-old Jeremy John Howard of South 8th Avenue in Maiden was arrested Sunday (March 10) by Catawba County Sheriff's Officers. He's charged with possession of methampetamine, simple possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting a public officer, and driving while license revoked. Howard was jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $6,000 bond. District Court dates were scheduled today (March 11) and March 25.

34-year-old Alferetta Inez Morgan of Maple Place NW and 26-year-old Payton Dashe Wilson of Taubrook Place NW, both from Lenoir, were arrested by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Both suspects are charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. Morgan faces two counts and Wilson is charged with one count. They were both incarcerated in the Catawba County Detention Facility this morning (March 11) under $300,000 bond apiece. They're both scheduled to appear in District Court Tuesday (March 12).

Man Killed In Iredell County Wreck

A man was killed in a vehicle crash in Iredell County. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Friday (March 8) shortly after 7 p.m. Troopers responded to a collision at the intersection of Nixon Road and Shumaker Drive.

A Toyota SUV, operated by 81-year-old Norman Allen Dixon, of Cleveland, NC, was traveling east on Nixon Road. A Chevrolet SUV, operated by a Statesville woman, was traveling north on Shumaker Drive. The Toyota failed to stop for a stop sign and collided with the Chevrolet in the intersection. Both vehicles went off the road to the right; the Toyota collided with and damaged a utility pole.

Mr. Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There were no other passengers. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. There were no indications of impairment.

A Morganton man will spend at least six years in prison after being convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon and larceny of a motor vehicle on Thursday, March 7 during Burke County Superior Court.

43-year-old Billy Earl Murphy was given an active prison term of six to eight years by the Honorable Robert C. Ervin, Superior Court Judge from Burke County, following his guilty plea. The defendant will serve his period of incarceration in the custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections.

Investigators from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a robbery on February 4, 2017. The defendant was lying in wait and surprised the female victim with the attack as she walked to her vehicle. He knocked her to the ground, hit her in the head and held her at gunpoint.

Murphy tried to conceal his identity behind a mask and hood but was recognized by the victim. He fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. He was later found at a local convenience store in possession of the vehicle and items belonging to the victim.

Isaac Propst led the investigation for the Burke County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant District Attorney Michelle Lippert prosecuted the case for the State.
