Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating an early morning robbery at a business on North Business Highway 16 in Denver. Detectives say someone entered the Seven-Eleven at 2821 N. NC 16 Business at approximately 5:15 a.m. today (July 10), 2020, pulled what is believed to be a weapon from the waistband and pointed it at the clerk.
The suspect demanded money and forced the clerk to open the cash register drawers. The clerk placed an undisclosed amount of money into a bag the suspect was carrying. The suspect then fled southbound on Business Highway 16 on foot. A K-9 was called in and tracked the suspect for a short distance before losing the scent.
The suspect was wearing a mask, a blueish gray hoodie and dark jeans. The investigation into the robbery is continuing. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050 or the Lincoln County Communications Center at 704-735-8202.
