17 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Tuesday (June 30) in Catawba County, increasing the total to 825, with 14 deaths. Hospitalizations dropped to 12, from 15 Monday (June 29). Tuesday was also the first day since last Wednesday (June 24) that the county did not report at least 30 new cases of the coronavirus. At least 340 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Catawba County, and there have been 3,325 negative test results.

There were six people hospitalized with the coronavirus in Burke County, and at least 783 patients had recovered. Caldwell County health officials reported two new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, increasing the total to 412, with four deaths. Hospitalizations increased to 15 in Caldwell, the highest number since the start of the pandemic. No new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Tuesday in Alexander County, leaving the total at 91, with one death.
