36-year-old Cody Tenile Gray of Greenbriar Road in Statesville was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff's Officers. She's charged with six counts of felony identity theft and one count of felony uttering a forged instrument.
According to information released Tuesday (June 30), on June 20, 2020, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to identity theft, and unapproved financial card charges. When officers interviewed the victim, they learned they had been away on a business trip, someone had used his personal information to open various accounts in his name, and his bank card had been used to make various transactions without his knowledge or approval.
A detective met with and interviewed the victim, gathered evidence from various business locations. After compiling all of the evidence, Cody Tenile Gray was identified as the person responsible. Based on this information arrest warrants were obtained for Gray.
She was arrested last Thursday (June 25) and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Gray was released on $6,000 secured bond. A District Court appearance is scheduled for July 17.
