Dollar General in Burke County Robbed

At 7:35 this morning (February 12), Burke County Deputies responded to a robbery at the Dollar General Store at 8269 N.C. Highway 18 South, near George Hildebran School Road. The store clerk said she arrived at the store and parked her vehicle. As she was walking to the front door, a male subject come up behind her and began making demands. When the front door was unlocked, the male subject demanded money from the safe. The man took an undisclosed amount of cash and the surveillance camera’s computer hard drive before leaving the store in a small passenger vehicle. The clerk was not injured.

The Burke County Sheriff’s CID/Narcotics Division responded to the scene. They are currently investigating the incident.
