25-year-old Lee Miller, Jr. of Highway 70A East in Hildebran was arrested by Hickory Police at about five o'clock yesterday afternoon (January 13) on one felony count of possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
Events leading to the arrest began when Hickory Police responded to the Telco Credit Union on Highway 70 S.W. where a female was reportedly attempting to cash a stolen check. Officers found Lee Miller, Jr. in a vehicle, along with 32-year-old Wesley Jacob Jordan of Brookwood Road in Morganton and 33-year-old Sabrina Shoup Frye of Premier Road in Granite Falls. Officers found 1.38 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle, near where Miller was seated. Jordan and Frye were both charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen property.
All three suspects were taken into custody without incident at the credit union. They were jailed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond for Miller and Jordan set at $5,000, secured. Frye was given a $1,200 secured bond. Miller was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today in Newton. Jordan and Frye have first appearances coming up on January 20.
