More information has been released regarding the arrest of 33-year-old Kristen Michelle Hardee of Benfield Drive in Granite Falls, first reported yesterday on WHKY. She was charged with furnishing a controlled substance to an inmate.
Events leading to her arrest began on November 9 when the Caldwell Co. Detention Center received a pair of reading glasses to be given to an inmate. The glasses were searched and a substance believed to be Suboxone was found hidden inside the reading glasses. Investigators with the Caldwell Co. Sheriff’s Office identified the person who provided the glasses as Kristen Michelle Hardee.
She was arrested on November 13 and jailed under a $19,000 secured bond. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled yesterday in Lenoir.
The incident marks the second time Hardee has been charged with an attempting to provide contraband to an inmate in Caldwell County. She was previously arrested on October 30 and charged with providing a mobile device to an inmate.
