27-year-old Cody John Adam Clark of Grandview Lane in Lincolnton was arrested Monday (October 7) by Lincoln County Sheriff's Officers. He's charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and inflicting serious injury.
Deputies were dispatched to a physical disturbance call at a residence on Grandview Lane in Lincolnton Monday. When they arrived on the scene, deputies learned that the suspect, Clark and another resident of Grandview Lane, got into a fight and the victim was struck in the head with a machete.
The altercation occurred after one of the men used a stick trying to break up a fight between dogs owned by the two men. The victim, who was injured, fled the scene and was later found by Lincolnton Police on Lithia Inn Road. He had a laceration on the head from being hit by the machete and was transported to Atrium Health–Lincoln for treatment.
Following his arrest, Clark was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $35,000 secured bond. He remained in jail as of earlier today (October 9). Clark's next District Court date is scheduled for October 22.
