Suspect Sought in Fatal Tuesday Evening Crash in Lenoir

36-year-old Kenneth Avery Davis is wanted by Lenoir Police in connection to an accident last night (October 7) that claimed the life of 25-year-old Marriah Kelly Warren of Forrest Hill Drive in Lenoir.

Lenoir Police responded to the crash scene at about 6:45 p.m. yesterday. The accident occurred at the intersection of Harper Avenue and Fairview Drive in Lenoir. Ms. Warren was driving a 1999 Honda Accord south on Fairview Drive and Davis was driving a 2012 Ford Taurus west on Harper Avenue when the vehicles collided in the intersection.

Ms. Warren was transported to Caldwell U.N.C. Healthcare where she was pronounced dead at 7:22 p.m. Davis fled the scene on foot prior to the arrival of emergency personnel. A passenger, James Andrew Powell, was traveling with Davis. Powell was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He was treated and released.

Davis remains at large. A warrant has been issued charging Davis with felony hit & run resulting in serious injury or death. The Lenoir Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation.
