Hickory Man Arrested in Connection to St. Stephens Break-In

31-year-old Eric Andrew Collins of Hickory has been arrested in connection to a break-in at St. Stephens High School. He was charged with breaking & entering and larceny after breaking & entering

Collins was arrested at his residence in northeast Hickory at about 10:30 last night (September 9). He was identified from surveillance images captured during the break-in. Some of the items stolen from the school were recovered from Collins' residence. Additional leads were developed resulting in the recovery of a stolen laptop computer. The laptop was found at about 11:30 last night at a separate location in northeast Hickory.

Collins was not listed as an inmate in Catawba County as of 9:30 this morning. No court date or bond information is currently available.

The investigation is continuing as the Sheriff's Office works to recover the remainder of the property stolen from St. Stephens. Sheriff Don Brown expressed his appreciation to citizens who volunteered information following the original media release.
