Fire Damages Hickory Residence

Fire caused major damage to a Hickory home. At 5:46 a.m. Sunday (August 11), Hickory firefighters were dispatched to 1029 16th Ave Place NW. They responded with two engines, one ladder, one rescue truck, and one command unit. Catawba County EMS also responded to the incident.

Upon arrival at 5:50 a.m., firefighters reported large amounts of fire and smoke coming from the roof of the house; so additional fire units were called to the scene. No injuries were reported. Fire damages were considered heavy.

Fire Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, which is under investigation.
