Hickory City Council meets in regular session Tuesday night (April 16).
Among the items council will address Tuesday, on the consent agenda is the acceptance of the bid and award of the contract to Neill Grading and Construction Company in the amount of $1,418,550. This is for construction services related to the Union Square Structures and Lighting Project planned as a component of the bond projects for City Walk.
Another item on Tuesday's Hickory City Council consent agenda is the acceptance of the bids and approval of a construction contract with Hoopaugh Grading Company in the amount of $2,670,943.60. This is for construction services related to the Project Cure site grading and road development. The City of Hickory identified an area in the southeast section of the city that is large enough and conducive to the development of a business park.
Also on Tuesday's agenda is the presentation of the Distinguished Budget Award for the Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2018. It's the 24th consecutive year that the City of Hickory has received the recognition. Under reaffirmation and ratification of second readings, council will vote on amending the traffic parking ordinance for Lot 1 and on the parking ordinance for the Farmer's Market. Both items passed unanimously on first reading.
