Former Catawba County Superior Court Judge Arrested In Asheville On Sex Charges

A former Catawba County Superior Court judge and Hickory attorney was arrested on sex offense charges in Buncombe County.

64-year-old Dan Green was arrested Sunday (March 31) by Asheville Police Officers. He's charged with felony statutory sex offense with a child, disseminating obscene material to a minor along with misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and providing alcohol to someone under the age of 21.

Green was arrested shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday. Published reports say he was apprehended at a hotel near the Biltmore House. Police were reportedly called to the lodging establishment when someone reported the sexual assault of a child.

Green was released on $75,000 bond. He has a District Court date in Buncombe County April 22.
