Hickory Man Jailed on Felony Meth Charge

33-year-old Michael David Kennedy of 12th Avenue N.W. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police shortly after 8:30 a.m. yesterday (March 14) on one felony count of possession of a schedule II controlled substance.

Kennedy was arrested after Officers responded to a reported injured person in a business parking lot on Springs Road N.E. Upon arrival, Police found Kennedy, who appeared to be passed out inside a 2001 Buick Century. During the incident, Officers found 0.6 grams of methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Kennedy was taken into custody without incident. He was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $3,000, secured. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
