The Newton Police Department is investigating the robbery of a pizza delivery driver. Tuesday (March 12) shortly after 10:30 p.m., Newton Police responded to Domino’s Pizza, on Highway 10 West, in reference to the armed robbery of a delivery driver.
Upon arrival, officers were told that a delivery driver was sitting at the intersection of U.S. 321 Business and Highway 10 West in Newton, waiting for the traffic light to turn green, when a black male ran up to his car. The suspect pointed a gun at the delivery driver and demanded money.
After the suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash, he got into a dark colored SUV that was last seen traveling north on U.S. 321 Business. The delivery driver immediately made contact with the store manager who called 911 for the driver. Anyone with information concerning this case is asked to contact Investigator Massey of the Newton Police Department at 828-465-7430.
