Robbery Of Pizza Delivery Driver In Newton Under Investigation

The Newton Police Department is investigating the robbery of a pizza delivery driver. Tuesday (March 12) shortly after 10:30 p.m., Newton Police responded to Domino’s Pizza, on Highway 10 West, in reference to the armed robbery of a delivery driver.

Upon arrival, officers were told that a delivery driver was sitting at the intersection of U.S. 321 Business and Highway 10 West in Newton, waiting for the traffic light to turn green, when a black male ran up to his car. The suspect pointed a gun at the delivery driver and demanded money.

After the suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash, he got into a dark colored SUV that was last seen traveling north on U.S. 321 Business. The delivery driver immediately made contact with the store manager who called 911 for the driver.
