Conover Man Arrested on Felony Firearms Offense

40-year-old James Daniel Terry of 32nd Street S.E. in Conover was arrested by Hickory Police at about 7:15 last night (March 12) on one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon and one misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed gun.

Terry was taken into custody without incident following a traffic stop and 2nd Avenue N.W. and Highway 321 in Hickory. During the stop, Officers found a .38-caliber pistol.

Terry was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $6,000, secured. He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today in Newton.
