The Catawba County Chamber of Commerce held it's annual Shareholders & Investors Luncheon Wednesday (February 13) at the Hickory Metro Convention Center. 520 people attended the event.
Kimberly George of Alex Lee Industries was the winner of the Chamber's Duke Energy Citizenship & Service Award. In addition, four stories were presented featuring various members of the community.
Principal Brian Hefner, Zindy Wilfong, Jon Carter, and Morgan King did a presentation regarding opportunities at Maiden Middle School. Dustin Roache spoke of his experiences with Hickory Mechanical and as a graduate of CVCC Construction Careers Academy. A presentation was also made by Jake Toney, a former apprentice at Sarstedt Incorporated and a student at Western Carolina University.
In addition, WHKY First Talk Host Hal Row did a question and answer session with Patrick and Aimee Broos in a "Making Living Better" segment similar to that program that airs on WHKY Radio.
