More Info Released Regarding Fatal Shooting in Alexander County

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office has released more information in connection to a shooting that left two people dead Saturday (February 9).

At about noon Saturday, Alexander County 9-1-1 took a call in reference to two deceased individuals in a residence on Mount Wesley Church Road in the Stony Point community. Stony Point first responders and Sheriff's Officers arrived at the residence and found two white male victims with multiple gunshot wounds. They were found in different areas inside the residence. The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Chad Lee Kennedy of the residence and 57-year-old Mark Jefferson Furey of Taylorsville.

Four neighbors near the residence told Investigators that a person had been knocking on their mobile home doors and on the sides of their mobile homes at at about 1 a.m. Saturday. Investigators are attempting to locate the individual who was knocking on the residences and encourages that person to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
