Hickory Teen Faces Felony Robbery Charge

18-year-old Valashia Vernae Boyce of "E" Avenue Court S.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police early yesterday morning (January 16) on one felony count of common law robbery.

She was arrested in connection to an incident on December 31 of last year. At that time, Officers took a report regarding a robbery at a residence on 18th Street N.W. in Hickory. An investigation identified Boyce as one of the suspects. A warrant for her arrest was issued.

Boyce was taken into custody without incident yesterday at the Hickory Police Department. She was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $20,000, secured. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
