30-year-old Johnathan Eugene Parker and 29-year-old Lee Jonathan Phillip Henry, both from the same address on Rifle Range Road in Conover, were arrested by Hickory Police early this morning (January 10) on drug charges. Both men were charged with one felony count each of possession of a schedule I controlled substance. Parker was also charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana. Henry faces additional charges for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, plus four counts of failure to appear on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a schedule III controlled substance and driving while license revoked.
Parker and Henry were taken into custody without incident at about 1:30 a.m. today at a hotel on 13th Avenue Drive N.W. in Hickory. They were both jailed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility. Parker was held without bond, while Henry's bond was set at $20,000, secured. First appearances in District Court were scheduled today in Newton. Henry will also make an appearance on the failure to appear charges on January 30.
