18-year-old Xavier Antwon Bell of Terissa Drive in Charlotte has been charged with 65 criminal offenses, including felony counts of breaking & entering a motor vehicle, larceny of a motor vehicle and larceny of a firearm, as well as misdemeanor counts of larceny and damage to property.
On November 2, 2017, the Iredell Co. Sheriff’s Office received numerous reports of vehicle break-ins in the area of Perth Road, near Troutman. During the break-ins, two firearms and other items were stolen. One vehicle was also taken. The vehicle was later found in McDowell County.
An investigation identified Xavier Antwon Bell as a possible suspect. At the scene of one break-in, a DNA sample was collected from a broken window. Blood samples were sent to the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory.
On November 26, lab results came back confirming Bell as the suspect. On November 29, Bell, who was wearing an ankle monitor, was found at a residence in Charlotte where he was taken into custody.
Bell was placed in the Iredell Co. Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond. He'll appear in District Court on December 11.
