The Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in finding a woman suspected of stealing valuable jewelry. The suspect is 27-year-old Kimberly Nicole Parker, formerly of Lincolnton. Parker has been charged with one felony count each of larceny, possession of stolen goods and obtaining property by false pretense.
Last Thursday (September 27), the Sheriff’s Office filed charges against Parker for stealing a ring. The theft occurred on August 10 of this year at the victim’s residence after she had hired the suspect to clean her home on Christopher Road in Denver.
Detectives say the victim asked Parker about the ring. The suspect reportedly admitted to taking the item and said she would return it, but never did. On September 26, a report was filed with the Sheriff’s Office. Detectives determined that the suspect sold the ring to a pawnshop in Gastonia on August 11.
The ring was custom-made in the 1980s and was a gift from the victim’s late husband. It was valued at over $2,000. The suspect received $100 in payment for the ring when she sold it to the pawnshop.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Kimberly Nicole Parker should call Detective Jon Propst at 704-732-9050, Lincoln County Communications at 704-735-8202 or Lincolnton/Lincoln County Crime Stoppers at 704-736-8909.
