45-year-old Kenneth James Yoder of Fellowship Church Road in Taylorsville was served a felony indictment by Hickory Police at about 8 p.m. yesterday (June 24).

The indictment comes in connection to a case involving a fire suppression system that Yoder allegedly agreed to install at the Hickory Moose Lodge. The Moose Lodge says it paid Yoder $7,000 in August of last year as a 50% deposit toward the work he had agreed to do.

A local attorney came to H.P.D. on behalf of the Moose Lodge to report the alleged fraud after Yoder failed to return to complete the job. Yoder was initially charged on January 8 of this year and the indictment was handed down in April.

Yoder was taken into custody without incident yesterday and then released after posting a $4,000 unsecured bond. He will appear in Superior Court on June 27 in Newton.
