Hickory Man Faces Felony Larceny Charge

50-year-old Charles Todd Ritchie of 31st Avenue N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police at 12:20 yesterday afternoon (July 30). He was charged with habitual larceny.

Ritchie was taken into custody without incident at the Kohl’s store on Catawba Valley Boulevard in Hickory. According to H.P.D.’s arrest report, he was armed with a knife at the time of his arrest. Ritchie was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $5,000 secured bond. He has since been released. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled today in Newton.
