No Charges in Accidental Shooting Death of Alexander County Teen

The Alexander Co. Sheriff’s Office has announced that no charges will be filed in connection to a shooting that left a teenager dead last Monday (June 11). After thoroughly reviewing the evidence in the shooting death of 17-year-old Jeremy Law and meeting with the Officers who investigated the case, the State has decided not pursue charges. The State has determined that the shooting was accidental.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. on the eleventh at a home on Will Wilson Lane in Taylorsville. Officers arrived at the residence, where the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim and another teen were reportedly playing with a handgun when the gun went off.

Jeremy Law had graduated with Honors from Alexander Central High School just two days earlier.
