25-year-old Garan Colby Wilburn of 14th Lane Street N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police just before 4 p.m. yesterday (May 14) on one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon. He was also charged with a felony probation violation.
Wilburn is the latest suspect arrested in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on April 8 outside The Vault Bar & Lounge on 1st Avenue N.E. in downtown Hickory. 20-year-old Antonio Knoshjun Watts died as the result of gunshot wounds received during the incident.
Garan Wilburn was one of three persons injured in the shooting, in addition to the deceased. He was initially taken to a local hospital and then to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem for treatment of his injuries.
24-year-old Caine Anthony “Killa Caine” Morrison of Winston Salem, 21-year-old Carlos Car’tre Ikard of Hickory and 24-year-old Keon Rashan Scott of Hickory were arrested in late April and early May.
Wilburn was taken into custody without incident yesterday on the 800 block of 14th Street N.E. in Hickory. He was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility where he is being held without bond. A Superior Court appearance was scheduled today with another court date on May 21.
