The Morganton Dept. of Public Safety is investigating an incident that left one man hospitalized in critical condition.
On June 4 at 9:28 p.m., MDPS Officers responded to 702 West Union Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and found an intoxicated female on a sidewalk on West Union Street. The woman had walked away from an argument that occurred at the residence.
While Officers were tending to the woman, Rodney Mauney of South College Street and Terrance Warren Beck of West Union Street began fighting in the back yard. Beck sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Charlotte’s Carolinas Medical Center.
As of yesterday (June 6), Beck was still in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. He was listed in stable but critical condition.
The investigation is ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
