Hickory City Council meets in regular session Tuesday night (April 17).
Among the items under new business on Tuesday's agenda is an update on the Trivium Corporate Center, formerly known as Park 1764. Public Services Director Kevin Greer will present the update on the center, which is a proposed business park identified for bond proceeds as part of the city's bond referendum. An area has been identified in southeast Hickory that is large enough and conducive to development of a business park.
Also under new business tomorrow night, Assistant City Manager Rodney Miller will present the third quarter financial report, the city will accept a 2017 Tree City USA Award, and council will made appointments to boards and commissions.
Among the items on the consent agenda for Tuesday's Hickory City Council meeting is the approval of a resolution supporting the grant application for the Surface Transportation Block Grant. Another item on the consent agenda is the approval to modify the traffic ordinance to increase the speed limit from 35 miles per hour to 45 miles per hour along Startown Road within the city limits and to increase the speed limit from 45 miles per hour to 50 miles per hour along McDonald Parkway within the city limits.
