39-year-old Juan German Vazquez-Pineda of Wilkesboro, 21-year-old Juan Jose Alarado Ibarra of Burlington and 40-year-old Rufino Iturbe Jimenez of Charlotte have all been arrested by Iredell Co. Sheriff’s Officers on drug charges. All three suspects were charged with felony possession of cocaine. Vazquez-Pineda was also charged with felony possession with intent to sell & deliver cocaine. Vazquez-Pineda and Ibarra were both charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and Jimenez faces an additional felony count for possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine.
On Sunday, April 8, as Iredell County Deputies were working security at a rodeo at Van Hoy’s Campground on Jericho Road in Harmony, they noticed three men behaving suspiciously near a wooded area. Deputies approached the men and began to question them. The men were evasive in their answers.
Deputies conducted pat down searches and found drugs and drug paraphernalia on the three men. Officers seized ten baggies containing cocaine and three baggies containing meth, all packaged for sale.
All three suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Vazquez-Pineda was given a $25,000 secured bond. Ibarra’s bond was set at $5,000, secured, and Jimenez was held under a $20,000 secured bond. Court appearances were set for April 30.
