44-year-old Tammy Hollifield Ford of Goat Farm Road in Hickory was served a felony indictment at about ten o’clock Monday morning (May 26) on one count each of obtaining property by false pretense and possession of stolen goods or property.
She was arrested in connection to an incident dating back to July 2013 in which a 96-year-old female victim reported a break-in at her apartment on 17th Street S.W. She found a window broken out on the east side of her home, a chair under the window and a large rock on the kitchen floor. Taken were a shotgun valued at $500, a handgun worth $300, some cash, watches, silverware and jewelry valued at approximately $20,000.
An H.P.D. investigation led to Ford’s arrest. She was taken into custody without incident at her residence and then released after posting a $5,000 unsecured bond. An appearance in Superior Court was set for May 30.
