29-year-old Leslie Brooke Coffey of 16th Street N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police at about 2:30 yesterday morning (May 22) on misdemeanor counts of assault on a government official, intoxicated & disruptive and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.
She was arrested after Police were called regarding a white female passed out in the parking lot at Argyle Place Apartments. Officers arrived and found the woman, later identified as Leslie Coffey, showing obvious signs of intoxication.
She was taken back to her apartment. At some point, Coffey allegedly grabbed and pushed the Officer and became belligerent. E.M.S. was called, but Coffey refused treatment. She also refused to cooperate with Officers and E.M.S. personnel, who needed her name, date of birth and signature for their paperwork.
According to Police, Coffey continued to be uncooperative and combative and was placed under arrest. She was taken to H.P.D. where she refused to be fingerprinted or photographed before being transported to the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $1,500 secured bond. She has since been released. Coffey will appear in District Court on July 3 in Hickory.
