66-year-old George Loggins, Jr. of Hildebran was convicted this week in Catawba Co. Criminal Superior Court of felony second-degree sexual offense. Loggins was sentenced to no less than 46 months and no more than 116 months in the North Carolina Division of Adult Correction.
Upon his release, Loggins will be required to register with the North Carolina Sex Offender Registry and be subjected to satellite-based monitoring for the remainder of his life.
The crime occurred in April 2013 in Catawba County. Loggins committed the assault while working as a handyman in the 49-year-old female victim’s home.
Investigator Chris Branch from the Catawba Co. Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation and Assistant District Attorney Michael Van Buren prosecuted the case. The Honorable Yvonne Mims-Evans presided over the conviction.
Loggins will be transported to the Division of Adult Correction for processing.
