Newton Man Arrested on Multiple Outstanding Warrants

36-year-old Johnny Dwayne White of Sandalwood Court in Newton was arrested by Hickory Police just after 11:30 Friday night (November 11) on one felony count of failure to appear for possession of a stolen motor vehicle and misdemeanor counts of assault on a female and resisting, delaying or obstructing a public officer.

White was arrested in connection to an assault that occurred on November 2.  He was also served with two other outstanding warrants.  All the warrants were issued earlier this month.

White was taken into custody at a hotel on Highway 70 S.W.  He was locked up in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility where he was initially held without bond.  Bond has since been set at $14,500, secured.  District Court dates were scheduled for January 8 & 24.
